Today, I received an e-mail from our General Manager, Orbelina Valeriano. Things are quiet in the country where our branch offices are located. The capital city, Tegucigalpa, is experiencing more tension with former President Zelaya still staying in the Brazilian Embassy.
We are staying on top of loan delinquencies in the rural areas, but more so in Tegucigalpa where it is easy for borrowers to try to use the political unrest as excuse for not repaying their loans on time. Right now, we are posting the best loan applications on Kiva.org and the second tier with a little more risk, we are funding with our own loan capital.
